  • 12/2023 - Dr. Sarker was selected as a fellow of AMIA (FAMIA). Congratulations!
  • 11/2023 - JaMor Hairston, a Ph.D. student working with us, has been elected as the Student Director of the AMIA Board of Directors. Starting January 2024, JaMor will serve a one-year term in this new role, advocating for and representing the AMIA student body!

  • 11/2023 - Dr. Sarker co-organized a session with NIH/NIDA entitled "NIH HEAL Initiative--Leveraging Existing Data and Predictive Analytics to Combat the Opioid and Overdose Epidemic".
  • 10/2023 - Four PhD students in our lab (Yao Ge, Yuting Guo, Jeanne Powell, and Echo Zhang) had poster presentations in AMIA 2023.

  • 10/2023 - Our postdoctoral fellow Sudeshna Das has been selected as the Women Breakthrough Award winner for Gender Mainstreaming by Falling Walls and Elsevier Foundation. She is one of four awardees for the year 2023, selected from 82 candidates from 39 countries.
